STRENGTHS

Leadership

How many people are managers and they think it's still about controlling, planning, forecasting and budgeting versus coaching, listening, and reinforcing people. And leadership is not to be confused with management; it's being able to inspire and keep those around you inspired.

Grit

Unstinting is one of my favorite words and yet I rarely see it used. I prefer hiring or working with people that are smarter than me becaue the amount you learn increases exponentially. In the long term, having grit is a much better determinant of success (see Quora!).

Collaborative

This one is so simple yet ignored and it's similar to Riccardo's law of competitive advantage. In short, it keeps everyone safe from too much load and the beautiful side effect is being able to leverage everyone's strenghts and you will learn more along the way.

After Thoughts

“Beware the irrational, however seductive. Shun the 'transcendent' and all who invite you to subordinate or annihilate yourself. Distrust compassion; prefer dignity for yourself and others. Don't be afraid to be thought arrogant or selfish. Picture all experts as if they were mammals. Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity. Seek out argument and disputation for their own sake; the grave will supply plenty of time for silence. Suspect your own motives, and all excuses. Do not live for others any more than you would expect others to live for you.” --Hitch; Letters to a Young Contrarian
